Overview

The SHIFT72 Caching Proxy (CP) is a server application that runs inside your network. It is responsible for downloading, storing and serving video content to SHIFT72 Players. Web browsers running the SHIFT72 Player are configured to connect the CP. Correctly configured Players will contact the CP located inside the network rather than connecting to the internet. CP will serve content from its local cache if it has a copy otherwise it will serve content from the internet, while downloading a copy of the video in the background to send to all future requests.
